ds had a horrible cold all last week, and now I know just how awful he felt because I've got it, and it's a humdinger. I let him have jelly for breakfast, lunch and tea on Thurs and in hindsight I'm bloody glad because this sore throat is a killer so I'm not surprised that's all he wanted! Besides, when he loses his appetite it takes weeks to get him eating again so I was just grateful for the fact he wanted something, whatever it was!

Sorry, TMI - answer: jelly for 3 meals on Thursday

ds1 had custard for tea last night.

MariaCC · 21/03/2009 15:06

DS has done nothing except watch cbeebies this week. All week. He has been ill which is my excuse.

DD asked me if she could read to me. I said no!!!

BUT, IN MY DEFENCE, it was long past her bedtime and she was prevaricating.

Mij · 21/03/2009 15:25

Making a completely ridiculous threat that could not possibly be followed through: "We're VERY late and unless you choose your clothes NOW you'll have to go to nursery naked.' There was a frost on the ground. And DD called my bluff - she loves to be naked.

Jacksmama · 21/03/2009 15:30

"Never leave your 13-month-old unattended on the bed."

Cue a thump and loud wail... even though he knows how to get off the bed or the sofa safely...

Anglepoise · 21/03/2009 16:33

All the ones that end "... or you'll be making a rod for your own back".

oxocube · 21/03/2009 16:36

just given ds (7) a CurlyWurly when dinner due in 45 mins

OrmIrian · 21/03/2009 16:37

All of them probably. But why break the habits of a life time

colie · 21/03/2009 16:41

Telling them I got them from the "beautiful shop" . .

Which avoids any birds and bees questions but leads on to even further lies.

Lindenlass · 21/03/2009 17:00

Let DD3 (2) complete a wood walk in just a nappy, socks and shoes .

giantkatestacks · 21/03/2009 17:08

Letting dd (10 months) have chip shop chips (without salt&vinegar though.

outnumbered2to1 · 22/03/2009 00:12

letting my DS1 climb into bed with me when he gets up at 2am to pee.
letting my DS2 climb into bed with me and DS1 when he gets up at 6:30am.
letting DS1 watch so much neighbours and home and away he now has aussie accent when playing cops and robbers with his friends.
letting DS2 eat half of my chocolate twist at Costa coffee on wednesdays (our shopping morning treat)
letting DS1 play me off my mother like a stradivarius?

Mij · 23/03/2009 13:23

Anglepoise I've lost count of my rods now

I think I may have a different Cardinal Rules books - kids getting into bed with you and going for a walk in eclectic outfits all sounds perfectly normal to me!
