Talk programme

My DS is raised in English and French and I wonder if there is any book or any 'training' available to stimulate language development?
He understands both languages, he is 20 months, and does not say much, only very simple one syllable words and often not pronunciated properly. We can guess what he means but this takes some decoding as this is far from the real words. I wonder if there are any games or activities to help him develop speech that you know of? I am thinking of doing this in english only as we live in the UK.
thank you

You might like the book "BabyTalk" by Dr Sally Ward. It describes a programme for ages 0 - 4 years. It's based on a daily thirty minute playtime where the baby has the total attention of its mother, in a very quiet room with lots of toys and play activities.

The book contains lots of detail about how speech, listening and attention all develop.

It's a lovely warm reassuring book, written for parents.

It is important to talk to your baby in your mother tongue or if you are fully bilingual in the language which is most natural to you.
