Well we have finally done it bought the trial pack, washed twice before use and todays the day, DDs bum is now well padded in a motherease OS, fleece liner and MO Rikki wrap.

First impressions are not too keen on the MEOs think they are cut too wide between the legs for DD, I think they look as if her legs are being pushed too far apart and theres too much in the crotch area (maybe it's my perception as shes always been in pampers). DD is 9 months normal height but only about 17lbs bless her.

So we have a Bumble and a totsbots to try later as well, I'll keep you posted (sorry I'm very sad and excited about my trial and have no one else to share this with). Have been looking at Fuzzi Bunz too they seem fab all in all liner and wrap but stuffable???

Sweetkitty, glad you are enjoying the terry world. Honeypot, really there's a lot more to cloth nappies than extra washing. For starters, they are NICE.

I just wanted to point out that if you are finding Bumbles a bit bulky you can get away with using them without the pop in pad during the day; I use a liner on top of the fleece inside just for a little bit extra. Nonetheless the big trouser thing is an education. I can't believe the number of brands that cut trousers for babies at hipster level. Even a bigger size isn't enough. Hate that.

Honeypot, disposable nappies stay in the environment for 500 years! I use cloth nappies for ds3 and am very sorry that I didn't for ds1 and ds2, shudder to think of the negative impact our family alone has had on the environment just from the use of disposable nappies. Also agree with evansmummy about the chemicals. Have you ever seen a burst wet nappy, its gross!

My reasons for changing to disposables after 9 months are 1) didn't like the idea of DD's little bum sitting in a bag of chemicals 2) the cost 3) the environment.

I find the actual washing of the nappies no great hassle and you will never run out of nappies and have to traipse down the shops for them. Also I find them so cute, everyone has Pampers etc paper nappies but this way you can be different. DD's bum in a pink tots bots is so cute (don't want to cover it up)!

I am now in love with Fuzzi Bunz I think they are great I bought DD a petite toddler one and I think it will see her through to potty training, am just deciding which colours to order next! I do love tots bots as well.

i think newborns look really cute in a big MEOS nappy! it's all a matter of what you're used to, it seems big if you change from disposables but in the end at least they're too young to be paranoid about having a big bum
