clothes to fit big bums in real nappies?

my 8 month old has a generously sized bottom as it is, but in his real nappies its HUGE. I have taken to putting him in shorts for 3 year olds .
I was thinking about starting a business making clothes cut to fit babies in real nappies.
What do you lot think?

tinker togs and frugi being the ones that spring to mind

How about Frugi (formerly known as Cut4Cloth)?

There are already a few companies that make clothes like this and from what I understand they are struggling, sadly. I think the issue is price. If you can make and sell them cheaply I think you might be onto something. And the answer with my big bottomed boy is dungarees

My kids wear mainly Hanna Anderson stuff and Nordic Kids if I'm feeling flush...

trousers from tesco and H&M are usually pretty generous around the bum

i love nordic kids, sadly my budget doesn't

mamailee · 02/03/2009 20:44

mmm yes, Thanks everyone.
Price is very important isn't it. I'd like them to be affordable. I work for a fair trade clothing company who could make them from organic cotton quite reasonably, and I can do all the design and pattern cutting myself, but I'm uncertain about taking the plunge and investing in it, especially now we're in a recession...

bright bots and green baby also do them.

But not that much choice really.

leeloo1 · 12/03/2009 22:46

If they were a decent price then i'd buy them, as its so disheartening that regular clothes don't fit/look strange etc.

I'm still about the (6-12 month) green baby vests i splashed out on that didn't fit my 4 month old!!!? Grrrrr at their stupid overly slim fitting vests (also got him 2 babygrows and they're much bigger)! He's now in tesco 12-18 month vests as anything else i have to use vest extenders with, which spoils the look of them a bit...

leeloo1, I had the same problem with green baby vests and sleepsuits. I got 0-3 months and DD was out of them by 6 weeks!! And she is not in any way a big baby. They were bl**dy expensive too. She is now in Asda!
