We arrive Easter Friday and plan to do the railway museum on the Sat. So what can we do on the Friday - I think the Yorvick will be too grown up our DS is 4. Ohh and the Sunday after weve left

Haven't read rest of thread so sorry if someones already mentioned it but DIG is brilliant, you can buy a joint ticket with Jorvick. On a cheaper note my DSs loved walking on the walls and pretending to be vikings

Castle museum also very good.

hi, my son is turning 7 in a couple of weeks, and really wants to go to York Dungeon for a birthday day out. I have had to think long and hard about this as i am not quite sure if it would scare the living daylights out of him! I have you-tubed the place and watched short vids of london dungeon as York hasnt got any posted, and have googled the question i am about to ask u guys..... Do you think he is too young to go to York Dungeon, as i really dont want to distress him and give him terrible nightmares that will only result in me bed-sharing with him! lol. I would really appreciate it if someone could offer a little advice on the matter. Thank u all xxxx

The railway museum is totally, mindblowingly utterly boring. It wasn't just my children who felt this way, judging from the glazed looks of others around me this was a general sentiment. I reckon it's free because if there was an admission fee people would be requesting a refund

crazymama - I went to the dungeon when I was 20 odd and thought it utterly horrible and grim! I know other people have loved it though so it depends on your son. I certainly wouldn't take a very sensitive child.
