reusables are easier than disposables

after reading talk of disposables being easier than reusables i just can't see how that is for some poeple.

I had Ds in disposables for a couple of months when he is little. we live in a block of flats and buying and carting home up all the stairs etra bulky shopping was near on impossible to cope with. then their was the putting out of the rubish DAILY! as it was so full.

then if i managed to get sick or was totally zonked their would be the mad dash for some disposables from the corner shop.

reusables are so much easier for me. i don't have to get dressed to put the washing machine on or hang them out. mine are pocket nappies and sitting on the floor folding and stuffing while playing are much easier than dragging DS to the supermarket on the way home from work.

i must say they were a pure delight during the snow as we could stay home all week and not go out the front door at all. (way to slippery on the icey stairs and sloping footpath to contemplate caring a small todler)

to me they are way easier.

Good for you.

They weren't for me and I always make sure I have enough disposables in the house.

I use mainly resusable, but also keep disposables in the house.

dh prefers the disposables for some reason!

even if you double wrap disposables they still stink. i get no odour from dry pailing de-pooped reusables.

It's just what you're used to isn't it? What works for one person doesn't always work for the other. I use mainly resuseables, but can honestly say that when I had DS1 and used dispos, I just got them with the main shop so never had stock issues like you describe.

and at the end of the day, there's always the internet!!

I find reusables much easier, but for no logical reason - I find myself all in a tizz on the odd occasion I have to use dispos, not knowing how to get rid of them.

I reckon it's 99% to do wth what you're used to.

I find re-usables easier in some ways but they do have their cons. It gets on my nerves carrying around spare washables as they take up more space than disposbles. But I hate disposables in general.

Washables are a lot more flexiable, ie if you find you are having leaks, maybe at night or whatever, there are things you can do - boosters etc but with a disposable there isn't much you can do.

I have yet to find a disposable that will hold in DDs wee at night.

I agree I find it easier to shove my nappies in the wash than to take them out to the bin. But I HATE taking the rubbish out!
