Feeling like a bad mum....

Do you think that I'm a bad mum because I (and heres the awful bit I hardly dare confess....) quite enjoy having the weekend to myself when my ex partner has our dd (who's 4)? I have to point out here that he does have her every weekend from Friday afternoon till Sunday tea-time usually and occasionally, till Monday tea-time if he has holidays to use up. The reason that I want some other peoples opinions on this is because my mother thinks that I'm terrible for letting him have her for so long. She keeps on at me about it and its really upsetting me. I suffered quite badly from P.N.D. for about 2 years after having my daughter and I'm worried that this has something to do with me not minding being away from her. I should also point out that I work part-time too so usually only have my dd for two full days anyway.

no t is normal to feel that way I think
the only thing I would say is once your 4 year old is at school you might want to spend some weekends with her just to do the fun stuff not all the nagging about homework stuff

where does she go while you work?

She goes to a nursery near to where I work. She's been going there since she was about 6 months old and seems to really enjoy it. I have said to her dad that when she starts school I want to have her some weekends, like you say, to do the fun stuff.
