Portuguese playgroups?

Does anyone know of playgroups/classes for Portuguese-speaking or bilingual children in London, preferably North London? The consulate offer no advice, but there must be something out there? If not, is anyone interested in setting something up?

Hi Girls,
I am Brazilian and have an 16 months old boy and would like to join either the Greenwich or the Dulwich. I have DVDs, Music CDs and many books in Brazilian Portuguese to bring to the playgroups too. Could you please let me know where and when you meet? Can't wait to take DS.
Thank you very much.

Hi
I am Portuguese have a 9 month old daughter who is growing up trilingual ( my husband is french). I am thinking of starting a portuguese speaking playgroup in streatham. Would anyone be interested?

NQWWW · 06/10/2011 17:16

Sorry, I am using your thread to ask a favour - if there is a Portuguese speaker out there who is willing to help us translate a couple of emails, I would be extremely grateful. My father recently had an accident in Portugal and we need to find out what happened from the lifeguard who saved him. Thanks!

search4portuguese · 27/11/2011 13:23

Hi Lara25 - I'm definitely interested in a playgroup or nursery in streatham! We live in wimbledon and i've been looking all over the area for a portuguese speaking nursery....but a playgroup would be ok as well if nothing else is available. my email is [email protected].

search4portuguese · 27/11/2011 13:46

Hi, I am new to the website and have a 2 year old boy. He is half English and half Brazilian, but speaks mainly in English. We would like him to keep in touch with his Brazilian roots so we wonder if anyone knows of Brazilian Portuguese toddler groups in North London? I would also be keen in starting a group, if anyone is interested, please get in touch. Thanks a lot, Giuli

Lambeth Council are planning a "Casa de Portugal" during the Olympics. They might have some stuff on their website already. And Lisbon's Camara Municipal is planning some stuff as well.

Dream11 · 29/06/2012 21:20

Hi. Like many others I want to raise my daughter (14 months) to speak both English and Brazilian Portuguese as father is Brazilian. He speaks to her in Portuguese and we give her as much Portuguese as we can. However, it seems like most Brazilians live in London. We live in Newport SW. Does anyone happen to live in South Wales or know of anything nearby? (Even over the border just closer than London can't afford the petrol :) !)

Thanks x

Dream11 · 29/06/2012 21:27

By the way I came across breacc.com/blog/

The Brazilian Educational and Cultural Centre is a charitable organisation created to promote the teaching of the Brazilian language and culture primarily to Anglo-Brazilian children living in London.

If it didn't cost so much for us to get there I would take my daughter. It looks really good. Have a look if you can get to Twickenham on a Saturday- for all ages x

PoppyAmex · 30/06/2012 20:38

Does anyone know if any portuguese groups in Scotland?

molyb · 18/09/2012 22:38

We setup a Anglo-Brazilian group for children between 0 and 12 a few months ago in Berkshire. If you happen to live around here come and join us at Clubinho Verde Amarelo (www.clubinhoverdeamarelo.co.uk). We are also on Facebook.
