is it hinm feeling sensation of horrible wet nappy clinging to his willy?

and today lied down ontop of his cuddly toy and almost groped it...

is it itch? wet sensation bithering him?

It could be:

(1) Threadworms
(2) He's enjoying himself (ie masturbating).

The first one is easily treated, the second one you will be putting up with for a really long time

but threadworms are surely visible in bum/poo???

My little boy (2 next month) is always trying to put hands in nappy (through clothes even). Often giving him a dry nappy helps a lot and he is much happier (we use cloth & I can end up changing him a few times within the hour after he wakes up in the morning, or if he's been drinking a lot later in the day etc). Don't really always know what the problem is. At times I've hoped he didn't have some kind of problem with his urine system or an obstruction of sorts, as he can act really tense and miserable when he is trying to urinate. Certainly isn't always like this - but he has his tense times for sure! And he can never have his nappy off as he'll tear himself to pieces - literally! He does have eczema, so at times I wondered if he was feeling itchy, but no signs of rash in nappy area at all - skin is always very healthy looking...at least until he gets his hands there! lol

Sorry I'm not of any more help - but I certainly have a similar experience with my little boy - and it can be quite frustrating! Especially when hands in nappy/grabbing ends up meaning he's pointing in the wrong direction and has soaked clothes!

Not necessarily - they normally come out only at night. It's the eggs that are itchy not the worms. www.cks.library.nhs.uk/patient_information_leaflet/Threadworms

That he feels the sensation of weeing, either during or before the nappy absorbs it, so instinctively feels for that area.

What sort of nappies do you use? My sister in law uses terries and plastic pants on her DD, and told me that now she's just started walking (DD not SIL!), she does'nt like the rustling noise they make and keeps clutching herself. Disp. are'nt any better. I can now tell when my DS is doing something in his nappy, because he goes red in the face, and clutches himself. Like LIZS says, he's obviously feeling the sensation of weeing in his nappy. I don't think it's anything to worry about, just normal.
