18-month-old dd is a very bouncy, curious little thing and wants constant entertainment. She has plenty of toys, but has anyone got any ideas for games/outings?

a walk to feed the ducks or to the park, walk not buggy, takes us a while.
swimming, soft play, local music classes.
swing, slide, rocker, trampoline in garden

playgroup, feed ducks, get her a buggy to take her own dolly/ted out for a walk, or go out with a bag or bucket to collect things, tea party with her animals, dancing to music, sandpit or anywhere with a bucket, spade and shapes, swimming, going round to someone's house, throwing stones in some water, pointing out animals/birds/dogs/cats, going on a bus, going to different playgrounds, splashing in wellies/rainsuit, mixing (uncooked) pasta in mixing bowls (they love that!), with a big spoon, playdoh, playing in the bath, singing songs, anything really. I do think the key things are going outdoors and just looking at stuff, and also a bit of interaction with new people, kids in particular.

lazycat, I have to say I found being a mother of a toddler drives me mad (DS is 2.5 now and it's a bit easier, but only a bit), because everything is fascinating for them and you worry you're not stimulating them enough, at the same time it's so boring for you as an adult spending 20 minutes to walk along 50 metres of a park path stopping every 5 seconds.. Playgroups kept me sane because at least you can have a coffee and a chat with the other mothers.. the only other sanity saver for me was getting a routine, e.g. planning some fixed things to do in the day, even if it's only going to the park this morning and then library or shops in the afternoon with lunch/nap in between..

story time once a week. get together two or three other mums with toddlers on a weekly basis and read outloud a great toddler story-the hugry caterpiller or going on a bear hunt are favourites. You can also teach nursery rhymes with actions-incey wince spider/wheels on th bus/old macdonald etc. ready made playgroup, toddlers love it, and since you take it in turns it takes the pressure off you to constantly entertain-great fun!
