Birthday party...how far would you travel?

I have provisonally booked a venue for ds party next month but it's about 20-25 min drive, approx 16 miles.
I'm worried people might refuse as it's out of town, but I just wanted to go somewhere different as all the parties seem to be in the same 2 venues we have in our town. I personally would go if ds were invited.
Do you think it's to far away or am I just worrying to much?

Sorry new to this party malarchy!

If only 25 mins that's not too bad ... I would go if it's a good friend and if I could arrange a lift share with someone - if not a good friend then I'd say no.

The worst thing is that it means there would only be an hour or so before turning round to pick up.

No I woudn't go - its too far - also adds nearly an hour just for travelling.
But then I prefer old fashioned home-style parties in any case instead of these soft play/leisure centre type ones

ChippyMinton · 13/02/2009 17:44

I probably would, but I'd feel resentful if it was simply the same activity (eg soft play)in a different location.

ChampagneAndStrawberries · 13/02/2009 17:53

I was thinking half an hour as I opened the thread before reading your OP.

I would travel that far - and in fact, will be tomorrow (probably be longer if traffic bad). That said, it means I, and the other parents, will have to stay as there would be no point coming back. Nice to have it somewhere different though.

HappyMummyOfOne · 14/02/2009 09:57

If a good friend and the activity was not something offered local then yes, if not then probanly no.

theITgirl · 14/02/2009 11:03

If I could get a lift share, then yes.
Or, if there was something for me (or me & other children if DH is not around) to do during the party as it is not worth driving home again.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 14/02/2009 11:14

I'd only go that far for a good friend.
