Having just read that another poster's children knew about masturbation by 9, I am prompted that I need to start a dialogue with my DD.
DD is 9 but very young for age, still loves her Sylvanian's, playing with dolls, fairy games/make believe etc although she will read quite advanced books aimed at much older DC - perhaps only technically, I'm sure she didn't completely 'get' Philip Pullman's Northern Lights.
She has never asked where babies come from, although the other day she did ask if our (soon to arrive) puppy would be able to have puppies when she is older.
She has also asked if our chickens could hatch chicks I told her for that we would need a cockerel, she has seen cockerels mating chickens and other farm activities. She knows that our very young buns were thought by the vet to be pregnant by their brother (vet was wrong).
She was 4 when I had DS, but wasn't at all interested in where the baby came from, got in there etc.
I have seen a few books recommended on here but cannot now find the posts.
I know I've got to do it, and probably should have done it by now, but am dreading it as she is such an anxious child and will keep herself awake at night stressing about new things.
TIA
