Sling for newborn HELP

My baby is due in 7 weeks and i have a 2yr old and a 1 yr old already. i want a comfy easy to use sling that leaves me hands free for to help my boys if i need to. I'd love one i can BF in too if possible, but comfort and ease of use are my main factors. I am also having a c-section for medical reasons so wondered if i could still use one while i recover?
I've been on slingmeet and i'm reading through that site now, but wanted some voices of experience from you trusted ladies please

I used a Kari-Me when my DSs were wee. Lovely, stretchy fabric, wrap it round any which way, used to bf in it, found it genuinely hands free.

Was only good for about 6 months or so - after that, I found they got too heavy for it and I needed something with a bit less "give" in it - now have a Storchenwiege wrap for DS2 (1).

Also have a Tricotti 2-part sling - it makes a sort of pocket for the baby to be slipped into lying down. Tbh, I didn't really get on with it, and never used it after the first few weeks as it didn't feel very secure. But there were other ways of using it that i never looked into. because I am a bit lazy, and I'd already discovered the Kari-Me by then.

A friend of mine has a Wilkinet, and she swears by it, and her brand new DS does look very comfy in it, I must say.

Have fun choosing!

diddle - I had a caesarian and after three weeks was carrying my daughter round in a baby bjorn. I never managed to breastfeed in it though, was just too much hassle as I have big boobs and didn't find it possible to get the baby into the right position in a sling.

i second the Kari-me. also had the tricotti for dd1 but found the kari-me more secure. we hardly use the buggy, really. good luck with everything!

freedom slings (ebay, made by a WAHM) are fab too.

I started with a Ring Sling from Bright Spark Slings which helped get me used to carrying and BFing as it is a lot more adjustable to move them/adjust to feed.
I found stretchy wraps good, but only when I knew she wasn't going to move IYSWIM, if I knew I was going to have to feed her a RS was much easier (and cheaper)

I had a CS with DD1 and had her in a sling a few weeks after birth. Was actually easier than carrying as it uses your back/shoulder muscles so doesn't pull on teh scar as much.

kari-me is fanastic especially when they are small (though I used it untill 18 months with dd). It has been a godsend with ds especially in the early collicy months. you are hands free and they are held so close its like still being pregnant. I also love that its just a simple stretchy bit of material

I'd get a stretchy wrap like a Moby and a ring sling (an open tail one, like an Ellaroo as they are most adjustable). If you buy second hand, they are quite cheap, and you can sell them on for much the same price if you don't like them, or when you are finished with them. The Yahoo group UKBabywearingSwap is great as you can post an ISO for them

I use a didymos wrap sling, they really are worth the time it takes to get used to them.

ime anything with stretch fabric doesn't last and anything really quick to get on and off like a pouch either hurts your back or is no good for leaning over (you need something secure to play with a toddler!)

I also use a connecta (like a mai tai but with rucksack type ties) which is quite good for quickly getting in and out and is very easy to use.
