swim nappies

Decided we'd like to take my 12 week old Dd swimming, have some huggies swimmers we had for my Ds, but it turned out they are 16lb minimum. We discovered there are smaller huggies swimmers (although difficult to find - we finally found them in Boots). These huggies swimmers (size XS) go up to 13lb. my dd is already 12lb10 but thats really far off 16lb. Huggies don't seem to do any swim nappies between 13lb and 16lb.

What do people normally do about swim nappies?

Tesco do their own range, which are a lot cheaper than Huggies. We just used the smallest size and ignored the weight.

The other option is to buy the swimming costumes with a built in nappy. Boots and Mcare do them.

I've been taking DD since she was 11 pounds and she's always worn the 16lbs ones because XS aren't sold here, it's never been a problem because I always use a Splash About Happy Nappy which is a swim nappy. Have you got her a wetsuit as she will enjoy it infinitely more if you have her in one, swimming pools are cold even when you're in the baby pool.

Disposable swim nappies are IMO a total waste of money! I like the Popolino washable ones best, as they are lightweight, quick to dry, popper fastening, so easy to remove if messed in, very adjustable so they fit for ages, and soooo pretty! Lots of lovely prints for both boys and girls.

I got a reusable one from mothercare - I think their smallest size starts from 11lbs.

thanks all!
I got her this in a discontinued colour half price in the Jan sale, its got a flat plastic built in like a sort of outer cover. But at 3-6 months and shes 3 mo tomorrow, its too big in the legs at the moment so um not very helpful yet! Our pool asks for two nappy wear for all under 3 yrs, so hence the dispo and the outer cover jobbie. Also am a bit paranoid. .
