Is a bay wetsuit the same as a baby all-in-one?

I've been told that it might be quite cold to start with for my 4month old when I take him swimming, so someone said to get a baby wetsuit. Is this the same as all in one swimsuits that places like Next sell, or are they actually real wetsuits that work like adult ones?
And are they necessary for baby pools in swimming pools? Thanks.

different.
they are the sunsuit thingys, and a wetsuit is neoprene and will hold the water, which will warm up and keep him snug.

no idea why you would need one in a swimming pool though lol. think sainsbo's had some neopreney ones a month ago if you really want - all 3 of mine managed without and were in the water from early early...

Baby wetsuits are made from neoprene, which is the same stuff as adult wetsuits and look like this.

I think the suits in Next etc are the sun/UV protection suits which are the same thickness as ordinary swimsuits.

If the pool has a dedicated baby/children's pool that is kept warm (like a warm bath) the you shouldn't need a wetsuit.

If it's just a normal pool then I'd definitely get a wetsuit because they can be really cold.

Either way, I'd limit your first few trips to 20mins or so, at least until he gets a bit more active because they do cool down quickly. Also, take his towel to the poolside so you can bundle him up as soon as you get out so he doesn't get cold then.
