Loving snow-day off-been playing in garden with dd. Just need to pop out to relatives and just thought is taking pushchair out when snowing a good idea. Just had visions of getting stuck in snow and having to carry dd home miles!!

Depends what it is TBH, I wouldn't try with our little Maclaren Quest but wouldn't worry at all about doing it with the bugaboo in forest position.

I just took DD and DS out in the pram - we have a buggy board so when DD (2) started to fall over I scooped her up and she 'slid' the way home on the buggy board. It's fine but be aware cars can't stop as easily. We have no payments so you do have to walk on the roads but as long as you are careful (and wrap everyone up well) it's fine.

ah yes dp took dd to childminders and had to push our maclaren buggy in the road where the cars had melted some of the snow because it was waaay too thick on the pavements to get through (we live in london)!

childminder is planning to take dd (aged just 2 and very weeny) out with her 12yo and 6yo who are off school - i am worried about dd, she'll get soaked. have sent change of clothes, wellies but the snow is above the top of her wellies and CM is not very good at changing clothes - anyway they will be at the park - oh poor dd, oh well she will have fun i guess. when she saw it this morning she said "bubbles!"

anyway thanks for the advice, enjoy the snow!

have no idea how they will get to the park as CM will have the same struggle with the buggy!

whitenoise · 02/02/2009 10:36

depends on teh age of your DD and how much she weighs and how far!

I will have to take DS3 in the pushchair to pick up DS1 and 2 later on. He is too wriggly in the sling and hurts my back as its far too far!

CherryChoc · 02/02/2009 18:15

I always take the pushchair when it is icy/snowy because I am worried I will slip in the snow with the sling on - at least it gives me something to hang onto.

I manage in fairly deep snow with a maclaren. It;s pretty hard work but is possible.

DS is three so perhaps his weight helps, rather than a lighter child who wouldn;t be heavy enough to push the snow IYSWIM
