Out n about Nipper v Phil n Ted

Hi I was wondering if anyone had any experience of both or strong feelings either way. Tbh I hate the idea of a Phil an Ted and hormones are making me a bit OTT emotional on the subject! But DH and other interested parties are convinced its the only sensible option and I'll regret it if I don't. They think I'll struggle with the side by side - don't want to stick my heels in and then be proved wrong but equally don't want to spend money on something i fundamentally dislike!! I know its probably irrational, but feel like I made a bit of a mistake with the Loola first time round and want to make right decision this time - any opinions??

Hi

Sorry to jump on here, but I am interested in the out and about, whoever might be selling one could they let me know?

i've got an out and about double. DC2 due in four weeks!

Will the P&t cocoon fit it do you think or do the nipper people do a similar thing for when the baby is little?

chockywocky · 29/01/2009 16:39

i am petite and have the p&t sport and its fine, baby is in the cocoon and below and i can see him and he can see me which i like very much, he also loves the swaying motion.

dc1 is 2.5 older and loves being on top. i like the option it can be used singularly as when dc1 is too big we haven't got a wasted buggy. its fairly ok to steer although i still love my maclaren which i do use for short walks with buggy board.

i didn't get a side by side because of the weight distribution and getting into doorways and shop aisles, my friend has this for twins and it's massive!!

only thing i don't like about the p&t is the brake being difficult to engage and un engage.. the vibe has a button brake...

I would like to sell my Nipper 360 double. Bought it April 2008 and have used it maybe a dozen times so in good condition. Did get a puncture the very first time I used it so one wheel has a new inner tube. My e-mail addy is [email protected]

Wish I'd got a side by side....I can't stand my P&t. Heavy to lift in and out of car, heavy to steer, baby grew out of cocoon in record time, constant punctures (I actually take a puncture repair kit with me when out) nasty thin little straps to keep kids in, poor baby stuck underneath with her head just fitting under the metal bar.....oh I'm going to stop moaning now.

Good thing is I got it cheap off ebay!

Have just bought a P &T double for the arrival of dc 3, in comparison to the jane powertwin it is postively featherlight (or at least that's how it feels), which i've aslo -struggled-- with had.

Haven't had a nipper but had a maclaren side by side and as they (dd's) got bigger we did have pushing poking issues. I also fornd it difficult to manouvere with weight distribution and being slightly smaller the arms/ handles were ucomfortable for any length of time.

The bus I was on yesterday seemed to have narrower access than most. P&T's was fine, but I wouldn't have wanted to be using a double side by side!

Will you be using the bus?

pushchair · 31/01/2009 08:05

PadDad you are not a failure. You are however persistant.
