Could any art students (former or current) please help me out with finding a book for my sister?

I'd like to get my sister an art book for her upcoming birthday.

She's currently doing an art foundation course and is specifically looking at sculptures and 3D work, at the moment recycling items to play with form and function.

Does anyone know of any good books in these areas that I could get her, or a particular artist who works in these areas that I could look for ? I don't want to get her something lower level IYKWIM that will be of no use or interest to her, but nothing too over her head either.

Any tips greatly appreciated

Well i looked at some on Amazon (typed in Sculpture) and there appears to be hundreds from Coffee Table ones to more technical ones. I'm afraid i don't know about recycling type sculptures - some perennial favourites are Barbara Hepworth, Jacob Epstein, Antony Gormley and of course, Henry Moore.

I would love a book like that as a pressie . HTH

I would ask her what her course book list is! I got some very odd books when I was studying art!

There is a great book called A Story of Art. It has been in publication since the 1950s and is a good basis for any art study.

It is good, isn't it? My dad had an ancient verison in his library and I loved looking at the photots when I was little.
