Fleece blankets

fleece blankets can be over warm I think and can cause overheating. cellular blankets are best as they are warm, but thin and light.

the playmat thing is just silly....it's unlikely to happen, but if it did it's not the end of the world!

Fleece blankets can be warm but if its cold I dont see the problem. Dd used to sleep wrapped in a massive fleece blanket in the summer on cold days - She was fine. We did check on her a lot though to make sure she wasnt over heating.

I was recommended to swaddle mine in fleeces by midwife!

Glad I wasn't told this as it worked wonderfully - now A sleeps in a grobag but laying a fleece blankie over him leads to him grabbing and nuzzling it and sleeping in an instant.

Local midwife-run baby groups have up to 4 babies on a playmat at once, whereever you can fit one in!

I think that probably babies can breathe through cellular blankets more easily if they get tangled up in them whilst asleep.
