EasyWalker buggy or Maclaren Techno?

I am trying to choose - maybe someone can help me...

I am expecting our No.2 and have a toddler (who will be 2.5 when the baby is born). DD is not a fan of buggies and spends most of her time running along beside the buggy until she gets tired. So there is little point in my getting a double buggy.

I need a buggy I can use for both of them.

From my research, two buggies are standing out - EasyWalker or Maclaren Techno.

I am not tall - around 5foot3 so I am looking for a buggy that won't break my back!

The EasyWalker Classic looks great on the website and is good value but I have never seen one in real-life. The footpaths are not great where we live, so I like the 3-wheels.

  • How small does it fold?
  • What is it like for a newborn? (I won't bother getting the cot - you use it for such a short time)
  • How easy is it to push?
  • Is it Ok for a petite person?

For the Maclaren Techno. I have seen a few people recommend it for taller people - which wouldn't be any good for me. Is it OK for smaller people?
And now good is it on uneven surfaces - and high footpaths?

Thank you so much!

K

in the easywalker blurb it says "depending on the road surface you can select either the fixed front wheel or the small swivel wheel...."

This alone would put me off - like you're supposed to carry 2 wheels around with you? And change it when the baby's in or what? It doesn't make sense. You need a front wheel that can swivel, or lock, not 2 wheels you have to change.

Dunno if that helps

i don't know about the easywalker but the Maclaren Techno is great. The handles adjust up, which is why it's good for tall people, but it's just fine for us little people too. ;)

nak

techno handles far too tall for petite people. backbreaking. all my friends have nipper 360 and love it.

I'm 5ft3 also, and I have the maclaren techno xlr if this is the one u mean. I think it's brill! Never had a problem height wise, plus it's really light and easy to manouver - which was my main worry as needed to get it on and off re bus. My ds is 4 months now, have used it from birth and he loves it. If you are getting one bear in mind boots do a lot of 20% sales in prams - we got ours from the online store delivered free x

Thanks girls for the advice. You are right about the easywalker cuppa. changing to 2 wheels would be a real pain.

I think I'll just have to try out the maclaren techno for myself as I have heard conflicting views about height issues... I had a Cossato buggy for a very short time with my daughter that killed my back. So I don't want to go there again!

Nearly 5ft 4 here and techno is absolutely fine. Just got another one in fact - great deal on mothercare.com with a few discount codes from hotdeals to boot!

Why the easywalker classic?????

I dont think you can get it in UK can you????

Easywalker sky on the other hand is fab, you dont need to change the wheels, the fron wheel either locks fixed or can be swivel.

Mines brilliant, wouldn't change it for anything.

Handlebar is suitable for both tall & small people as its adjustable.
