Even when sitting with his bottom right at the back, his willy was hanging over the front!! Ok he's big for his age (I mean tall!! not boasting about his willy size!!) but not freakishly so, and surely potties should fit children up to 3/4 years old?! Anyone else had this problem? Are there extra large sized potties?!

the first potty we bought was like that (it was a cheap one from tesco). since then have got a cheap one from boots that has a high bit at the front (handy to stop the wee going on the floor) and it is much bigger than the other potty.

Hmm, thanks choufleur will have a look in Boots, this one was from Mothercare and annoying not that cheap (5.99) but don't think I can take it back now it's had wee all down the front of it!

Yep, we got the Boots one too and the high bit is a godsend, trust me!
I think it was about 4 or 5 pounds, so not at all expensive.

it's just a plain blue one from boots.

this is why we ended up with a chair style potty!

had exactly the same problem and ds refused to even go near a normal potty - then he saw the pink fifi and the flowertots chair style potty (throne!) and fell in love. Made life so much easier. Just used a toodleloo toilet seat when out and about.

CarGirl · 21/01/2009 21:00

yes I would take it back, it's not fit for purpose if it's that small!

Jacksmybaby · 22/01/2009 14:14

Ooh yes, we saw the fifi + flowertots chair potty in M-care too, looked v cool but think DH would have freaked if I'd brought home a pink flowery potty for DS! (Also, do you not worry that they will start to think all chairs are potties, with disasterous consequences?!)

Good tip on the blue Boots potty ladies, have just bought it and it's a much better shape and size. And only £1.90, so feeling even more annoyed now about wasting £5.99 in Mothercare!
