As part of my new years drive to be more organised I thought i'd better sort my first aid box out...so far I have a half empty box of plasters......not sure as to what I really need as i'm on a budget, all the lists I have searched for on the web seem to be soooo long! Do you really need an eye bandage...just in case?
Please tell me what you have in yours
Thanks!

Our was built with travel to exotic climes in mind so we have:

Triangular bandage (for arms)
Crepe bandage

Dressing bandage

Dressing pad
Sterile gauze
Micropore tape
Antiseptic wipes
Latex gloves
Syringes and needles (has to travel in hold!)
Cotton wool pads & cotton buds
Eye wash
Various plasters
Antiseptic cream
Scissors
Safety pins
Thermometer
Heat retentive blanket (those shiny foil ones)
Clove oil (for sore teeth)
Paracetamol & ibuprofen & asprin

I feel like a travelling pharmacist! It mostly all comes home untouched - but I'll be mighty glad of it one day. It all fits into a (large) wash bag, so isn't as bad as it sounds - though DP usually whinges about lugging it around. I have also on occasion at the end of a holiday gifted most of the content to small clinics (talking 3rd world here) where they are often desperate for stuff.

thepuddingchef · 20/01/2009 10:35

I was just feeling totally inadequate by everyones lists then I spotted you seeker....at least i'm not the only one
I am going to sort it out though!
Lionstar very impressed with your list, we won't be travelling any further than bognor I would imagine though

pudding - sadly since the arrival of DD (nearly 2) we have rather curtailed our exploring and gone for the sea & sun variety. I probably should cull some of the kit (I was being overzealous with it anyway - at least according to DP)! We have in the past trekked around the US, Canada, Peru, Nepal, Egypt, Turkey & a fair bit of Europe. We're hoping to get back to being more adventurous when LO is a bit older (and can stay with my Mum )
