my dd has just started crawling, and much as i dont want to restrict her in a playpen, it is doing my head in! All i seem to do is say No! Dont touch that! She loves the Sky box, remotes and stereo stuff etc.. I know its normal and i'm so proud of her development but my sanity is going out the window!!! What do other parents do? Cover stuff with chicken wire?!

Move as much of it as possible. We've given in to the fact that we have a child and a dog so no nice sofas/ornaments for us!

We have a great cover thing for the DVD player which has been great so she can't touch the buttons.

Remote controls kept out of reach... We do take things off her that she's not allowed but dancing around saying no all day long isn't mcuh fun for anyone.

Like stickybeaker says, you need to rearrange things if possible.

Even when they understand 'no' it becomes a game to try to touch it and hear you say 'no'.

If you can, try to distract rather than say 'no'. Eg you see baby heading for the socket, produce a safe adult object for her to explore.

I do the whole scary supernanny "No" It sometimes works, normally she just looks at me and shakes her head and laughs
