hi mums
I have a daughter who is 2year 5 months old and she never tells us when she poos so we haev to just keep checking her or IF we smell her and sometimes we dont catch it straight away so she gets rash.

Problem is she SCREAMS when we change her..there is no such thing as an easy change she glues her legs shut and we have to PRY them open to clean her bits to make get rid of the poo that she has sat in. ALso she wont have any of the potty. we did try adn she went once and then the next day she cried and screamed when she was going down her leg and held it in when she sat on the potty.

So I dont know what to do to... Its like she thinks I'm being horrible when I'm wiping her even though I'm trying to be as gentle as possile if she has a rash but even if there is no rash its the same performance.

Anything or any techniques you mums did or sceen on jo frost or the mums for this website??
I really need help. Thank you

My ds never told me he'd had a poo either. I think it's just because he simply didn't mind! He would often get a rash too, so I understand your concern.
Has she always been this way? Or has something happened. It may not be directly responsible (like your nail catching her) but may be a sympton iyswim
So, if you have checked the place you do it, is it a comfy place/is there a wee toy to distract her with/the wipes are warm/you are happy and calm etc then I have no other ideas!
I would keep her bare bummed when at home though and if she starts to go put her on the potty calmly everytime, and clean up everytime if it doesn't work
Be assured she will get there in the end, although I know its harrowing for you right now, but difficult though it is I think its key to stay calm.
I don't know if I've been of any help, but wishing you the best nevertheless!

Oh, a couple of other things- though she is a bit young to potty train properly you may want to try her on the toilet. Trainer seats will stop her falling through, although little ones often get a bit scared of the loo.
There's a potty training aid which is a sticker that goes on a potty and when the warm wee hits it a picture of a smiley character appears. A friend of mine's dd wasn't really potty training but because the potty was in the living room she would occasionally use it and was delighted to see her sheep
