Oh the joy the tantrums have started most of the time when ds cant have something or have his own way or if he gets frustrated. This usually results in him throwing toys etc, stamping and crying/screaming/shreiking. I am trying to ignore this behaviour but wondered if it was the right thing to do.

he os also quite violent to dd (7 months) and will smack and heatbutt her. again im not sure how to deal with this.

right now he is having a tantrum because the spout on his sippy cup closed and he couldnt get it open. I have opened it and put it in his line of sight but have ignored the screaming. Does this sound like the right thing to do?

Everyone has told to be consistent so i am trying to do this as best as possible.

Ignoring or distracting are the only ways to d/w tantrums (distraction only works to head them off, not once they've started).

You can't let him hurt the baby tho. Best remove her from his reach when he starts.
