Kids in bed.

DS2 is 3 1/2 and crying for a drink. Every day we tell them water at tea and not at bed and most nights he cries and wants a drink. I could give him one and he would go to sleep but he has been really naughty tonight and it just feels like he is crying and I will give in.

I feel crap today, woul dhappily be a million miles away, and can not be trusted to make the sensible decision.

Hmm - its up to you, only you know whether he genuinly wants a drink or is trying it on with you.

My girls always drag out bed time with wanting another drink - I let them the first time and figure they can't be thirsty after that.

My dd3 (18 months) always wakes for a drink several times in the middle of the night and I just get up and give her one - I honestly think its habit now rather her actually needing a drink, but its not really that much to ask, so I just give it to her

DS2 saw DD had a drink so had to give him one.

Is not giving him a drink worth all this?

Just give him the drink and tell him that is it bedtime now.

He has had his drink.

Even if we remind them to get a drink before they go up, he says he doesn't want one and then decides he does just when I am putting the light out.

Thats just what my dd's do NAB. They have perfected the art of dragging out bedtime

I just let them come back down once and then they don't ask again!

DD has a bottle of water by her bed every night.

It is because both DD and DS2 want to get out of nappies and I keep telling them they won't be dry if they carry on drinking so late. They can have what they want at teatime. I was trying to help them.
