Does anyone know where to get cloth nappies for dolls?

That don't cost as much as the real thing?

DD got a doll that poos for Xmas and we get though a fair few nappies. We can only buy dispos for dolls here, which really grates on me as DD was a cloth nappy baby herself. I've tried online but all I can find are premmie cloth nappies from the likes of Totbots and Kushies, which could be suitable for dolls too, but the prices are not doll prices, alas.

Anyone have any ideas?

What about cutting up an old towel and sticking some velcro on them to keep them on?

Brangelina · 06/01/2009 22:04

I had thought of that but am totally crap at sewing. I am saving that as my last resort though.

We got some from www.bishopstontrading.co.uk/wholesale/wholesaletoysbagslinen.php

But really they are just bits of cloth cut up and velcro stuck on them. My sister made us some.

You don't need to sew, just cut them out and stick the velcro on with superglue! I don't think toweling frays but test it first.

You could also try a packet of premature baby nappies.

was going to post suggesting face flannel cut in two

but, sorry - a doll that poos - what????

isn't that just really disgusting?

Fennel · 06/01/2009 22:10

Baby Born poos, if you feed her mashed banana. It's a very popular activity in our house.

Some of the other real nappy companies do doll nappies too, but it's years since I used those sites. We still have the doll nappies though, going strong.

more work for mum!

Are those the ones you have to flush out after 'feeding' because they go mouldy?

mazzystartled · 06/01/2009 22:15

bleurgh

how am i gving to keep dd from ever finding out such a thing exists?

Brangelina · 06/01/2009 22:15

Hmm, might try DP's sewing skills on the towels then.

Yes, it's a doll that poos, DD specifically wanted a defecating doll. You feed it this bright yellow slop made up from a sachet they provide and lo and behold nappy is filled with disgusting yellow splodges.

The doll talks too. Scary, a bit like Chuckie. I make sure it's switched off overnight. This is the one, I don't know if you have similar in the UK .

Here you go, only £5.50 for a nappy for the doll.

you could try any of the WAHM on CNA

Brangelina · 06/01/2009 22:47

Thanks Fennel for the link, I did see that but thought £5.50 quite a lot. I suppose I shouldn't be such a stingebag, plus with the current exchange rate it shouldn't be too bad.

What's CNA?

as it' a doll, cant you just use facecloths and a nippa?

thumbwitch · 06/01/2009 22:50

eurgh, btw!

Brangelina · 06/01/2009 22:51

Nah, DD would notice it wasn't the same. Plus she's 3 so would probably have trouble with the nippas, I know I struggled and I'm a bit older.

Cloth Nappy Addicts

MoominMymbleandMy · 07/01/2009 00:44

I bought some from a WAHM on Ebay last year. About three for a fiver, I think. If you do a search for nappies in the dolls and bears section she may still be there.

Otherwise Holz Toys. But I think they were quite expensive.

Fennel · 07/01/2009 10:15

I think £5.50 is rather a lot too for a bit of cloth nappy, but the others I found were £9.50. I think it could be a case of picking up a needle and thread, even if you're not a keen sewer. You don't have to be very good, it doesn't have to fit neatly.
