3 days of mopping up. Dd1 is 2.9. Give up or persevere?

She is very keen to ditch the totsbots & wear pants, & perfectly willing to sit on the toilet (trainer seat - she's a bit too 'leggy' for a potty).

Then she gets off, & wees on the floor 5 minutes later.

I reckon we're averaging 3 in the loo & 9 in the pants per day. (Oh & one poo. In the pants.)

Leave it for a bit, or grimly carry on with it?

It's not that much more inconvenient to wash pants & trousers than nappies tbh, but CM may be less than impressed...

Dh says nappies for CM, pants at home. I think that's probably too confusing & might be better to abandon the whole idea until Feb half-term.

Give up and try again in a couple of months. I agree that to chop and change is confusing. I tried to toilet train my twins at this age and it was a nightmare, but a couple of months later it was a breeze. Well, maybe not a breeze but it was ok

Al or nothing I say, either go for it completely or leave it until you can devote a week to it.
BTW, your DD is doing better than DS2 (also 2.9yrs) who saw his Mr Men underpants in his stocking and proclaimed no nappies! On Christmas Day, with all that excitement and my Mother up etc etc It was useful in one way, my Mom now believes me when I say that DS2 just isn't like DS1 and isn't ready.
How much poo and wee on Christmas Day? sigh.
Nothing, not one , ever on the potty/toilet. This is the boy who is obsesses with watching his brother go to the loo.

OK, "All" or nothing, and DS2 did once pee on the potty, about 4 mths ago, by accident.

I reckon you're right.

My mum thinks I am hopelessly slack & should've had it sorted before she turned 2.

(We had identical convo re: ds, who had several false starts before becoming fairly reliably dry at 3...)

Thanks!
