Mountain Buggy Twin Urban vs. Out n About Nipper 360 Double

I'm expecting twin girls in May and they are my first babies. I'm already seeking advice on the multiple births forum, but some of you might have experienced these buggies with newborn + toddler, so please let me know what you think. Thanks [smile}

I love the MB but the folded dimensions are a bit tight for my Golf boot. I'm trying to find one locally that I can try in the boot to see whether it really does fit but meanwhile thought I'd see if I could get some help here as there are some other pros and cons that I am weighing up...

Nipper
It's a really great size for me (I'm 5'3")
It's really easy to push
It's light and compact for the boot
Will my newborn twins really be comfortable in the seats rather than in another buggy with a carry cot?
Some of the reviews say:
that it can tip up if you've got both babies lying flat
that some children get fed up of not being able to sit more upright - no bumper bar etc.
It's wider than some side by sides - I'd like to know whether this causes problems with doorways

MB
I like the fact that I can use carry cots and have them facing me
It will last longer I think - is that people's experience?
It's narrower than the Nipper
Very easy to push and very easy to fold - I like that it folds flat (if it'll go in the boot!)
It's twice the price! I can probably afford it, but is it worth it as if I spend the money here, there will be less for other things.

Thank you very much in advance for your thoughts

I have MB single and MB double, I love them, they have lasted really well. The double fits in my boot if I take the back wheels off, this sounds like a nightmare but they come off really easily, it is really worth the effort. They are really easy to push and they are cosy and comfy for babies/toddlers.Great for long or short walks.
They sell well on ebay.

If you can afford it I would go for the MB anytime. I would kill for a twin MB (DD2 will be 16 months when DD3 arrives) but cannot justify it. You will get years of use out of it and still get half of your money back on ebay when you have finished with it.

I have MB double with carrycot for ds,and seat unit for dd.
I love it. Although the carry cots are narrow and at 19 weeks he is filling it.
I also have silvercross coach built pram so think I have been spoiled by the size.

I tried first wheel city twin had it for 2 weeks.nice idea but didnt feel very strong.

My friend has the new MB double for her 17 week twins and she loves it. Mine is the older version without swivel wheels, but its still good. Feels strong/sturdy etc...

Have a look at the Easywalker Duo as well, it is lovely. Cheaper than the MB but just as well made.

Thanks for your comments - it does sound like the MB is a good buy. Now to see if I can get it in the car...

pgwithnumber3 thanks for suggestion, but I didn't like the Easywalker when I saw it - you are right it is very well made and looks lovely, but it just didn't feel comfortable to push. I guess that's why it's important to try them out.

Myself,my sister, and my bfriend are all twin mummies and all the proud owners of Nipper 360s from birth they're fab, only pushchair I ever had until I downsized to a Nipper single

cktwo · 04/01/2009 20:49

My Nipper fitted into the boot of my Golf but it was a squeeze. No room for shopping and the parcel shelf had to come up. Loved the pushchair though, got a P&T's now the LO are toddlers.

I have the easywalker duo, and i think its amazing.

Ive had a MB double in the past too but the easywalker does everything better.

much better

  • you can have 2 carry cots, 2 carseats or 2 seats. or any combination of these.

Its brilliant and very easy to push.

If you do go for MB, worth buying the carrycots on ebay, second hand, they get listed really frequently and carrycots never get any wear. Will certainly save a few pennies.
