I'm thinking of buying a Baby Beehinds nappy to try but am unsure whether to buy the bamboo or hemp version. Has anyone used these nappies? Are they any good?

Does anyone know if I need a Baby Behinds wrap to fit over it or can I use a airflow?

thanks

I had the bamboo ones and really liked them - and an airflow is fine

i read a review that said they went a bit crispy - did you have any problems with this? Don't really want to buy something I have to tumble dry...

No, no more problems with that than usual. I don't live in a hard water area though

You can use an airflow. It was definitely better than the beehinds wrap imo.

I preferred the bamboo to the hemp tbh. Found the hemp one quite rough. But I found the bamboo one shrank quite a bit...it no longer fits dd (20 months) and they're meant to be btp.

Tbh I wasn't really that impressed with them, though I've seen others who really liked them.

Tis me! I am in love with my Baby Beehinds! DS2 is a fairly chunky two-and-a-half and they fit him beautifully.

I have the bamboo ones, not tried the hemp. They are super absorbent and quite gorgeous and I only wish they still came in bright colours.

I use them with Airflows but for night prefer a fleecy Stacinator wrap.

I do give them a quick tumble from time to time and they do take FOREVER to dry.

Thanks for the comments everyone

A few more questions: Are these fairly trim nappies or are they chunky and best kept for night times only? How are they for leaks? - I have used a few other birth to potty type and found they leak at the legs

I find they are pretty trim, even with both boosters in. Not had any leaks yet but I've not used them on a small baby yet.

AlienSwampMonster · 29/12/2008 21:45

I tend not to use them during the day mainly because they are so fabby at night but take so long to dry.

laidbackinamangernocribforabed · 29/12/2008 21:48

I have used them since birth on DS3, and have never ad any leak problems. Not too bilky and have the wraps too, but prefer airflow. I have the bamboo onesm but as others have said the drying time is longish.

I have one bamboo one, I am impressed by the absorbency. I come from a very hard water area and don't tumble and it does make it go relatively hard, but not quite as much as my EH Hemp/Bumhuggers. Another positive for the bamboo is that it doesn't stink like hemp does. A minus point to the nappy is that the legs are very much like Ella's House Gumhuggers, I find the frills are a bit rubbish. However, I've not had a leak yet although I've not actually used it much.

NappyObsessed · 29/12/2008 21:55

lollipopmother - the hemp ones stink? yuk! maybe the bamboo is a better bet then

I've never had a hemp Beehinds NaPPYOBSESSED, BUT i FIND THAT ALL MY HEMP NAPPIES SERIOUSLY PONG when they're wet. Woops caps. nak.

I have the bamboo ones for night, i find them better if i don't tumble and pull/scrunch them a bit once dry. I'm in a hard water area though.I've used an airflow and thirsties wrap over them.I stick them in the airing cupboard and they take about 30 hours to dry, turning over once.
