She knows when she needs to go and gets upset if she's wet but she will NOT sit on her pooty/potty chair/toilet training seat. She reacts like it's going to bite her bits off.

If she;s wearing a nappy she'll tell me she's pooh - 'look mummy i poohed' and she'll go off and hide to do it when she's in pants or nappy

i really don't know where to go from here.......we've not had pooh or wwee in ht e potty/toilet but we have had it in pants/under the table/in the wardrobe with the door closed

any advice would be great.....

Are there any older children in the family she could watch using the potty? My 18 month old always has to have a sit on the toilet after dd1 has been on. Or try sitting her fave dolly on the potty, esp if it's one that wees and then make a big fuss "Ooh look at dolly she has done a wee on the potty. What a good dolly. Lets give her a special sticker. Isn't dolly clever using the potty?"

that's a good idea about the weeing dolly - she makes her bunny have a wee but obviously nothing comes out!

She has always been in the toilet with me - she says pwoar stinks mummy but will NOT sit on it herself

I bought a lift the flap book on potty training but it's the only book she's not the slightest bit interested in!!!!!

Also try just leaving the potty out so that she can investiagte it and have a go in her own time with no pressure.

the potty is a permanent piece of furniture in the front room and one in her bedroom too

urgent update - she asked to get out of the bath - a wee a wee. so she sat on the potty of her own accord and did a massive wee!!! We've waited all day with 3 pairs of wet pants........stunned.......have we cracked it or was it a fluke??????

You might just have cracked it (or at least a start). I'm training my DD2 at the moment and I had real trouble with getting her to go on the potty (even though she was v aware of when needed to wee and would jump around crying etc holding it in). Her first two voluntary wees on the loo were from the bath (2 nights running) just as you describe - odd really as i'd have thought they would sneakily wee in the bath!! Anyway, we're now a week on from there and she's doing really well, so fingers crossed....

glad to here it Nelly - i think she was terrified of weeing in the bath water!!!!!!

Fingers croosed we've cracked it - glad to hear your lo is getting the hang of it
