Getting up to wee in the night - stupid question

My DS has been potty trained for over a month now. He still wears a nappy at night but every night is waking to go to the loo as he doesn't want to wee in his nappy.

Obviously this is good and I don't want to tell him to just go in his nappy but I don't want to have to keep getting up

Should I stop giving him drinks in the evening? although I worry about him being dehydrated as he doesn't drink much. He has a stairgate on his room at the moment as I don't want him wandering the house on his own.

how about one of those potty chairs you can get in mothercare?

I'd restrict fluids an hour or so before bed and ensure bladder is emptied before going to bed.
My DS1 3.4 has a drink with his tea at 5, I make sure he has a wee before his bath at 6.30; he then has 2cm of milk whilst having a story in bed & "teeth'n'toilet" after his story. He's getting up in the night for a wee at 4 but goes back to sleep well. He's still in a nappy though, just in case.

How old is DS?

He's 2.8 so I'm in no hurry to put him to bed without a nappy on but I think restricting fluids before bed might be the best plan.

He won't use a potty
