For 16 months npw I have washed poo off stinky nappies. Mostly I love it but I'm tired and grumpy and some poo just fell on the floor again...

Please remind me why cloth rocks.

I want to dye my terries blue. Am I insane? Will soaking nappies make them run?

i think my cloth nappy honeymoon is over too - it just seems like more work now. i think you just need to remember how awful it is to use things so frequently on a daily basis that you then throw away. also you are really in the money-saving zone now having done cloth for a while - keep with it!

i have no idea about dying terries sorry - it sounds like a pretty bad idea though. how about getting a new pretty wrap?

Do you use liners? I occasionally resort to disposables for a day or so when it all gets too much. Accidentally dyed a few blue, green and pink. Obviously don't always check washing machine very carefully Didn't seem to run when subsequently washed.

I never think that dying things is a bad idea!

I know there's someone on here that dyed her Tots Bots and they're still running now, although I don't know whether she just did it wrong??

leeloo1 · 20/12/2008 00:17

I dyed my tots bots last week and they're not running (well poor DS did have a slightly blue line round his legs for the first day (v blue tots bots and v wet nappy), but after a second wash they're fine. I've since washed them with other clothes and even creams/whites are fine with them.

I used Dylon machine wash - in fact the turquoise ones look so funky the rest of them are in the machine turning a snazzy deep orange now! ;)

I have dyed some of my terries with dylon machine wash. They look fab. I washed them an extra time than what they suggested, but I don't soak my nappies, but I haven't found they leak any colour. They rock, much better than the grey/pink colour they had gone.

Start gentle potty training? DS was pooing in the toilet reliably by that age.

Some fab ideas!

Think I'#ll wait till after xmas day to dye. Liners.....yes.... gave up on them when poo was runnny but mayeb |I should try them again...

We were thinking aboiut some gentle poo in the toilet training but can;t get the darn things off quick enough...

Orange!!!! Yippeee!! I am now inspired!!!

I dyed terries lilac with great success, Woolies are selling all the dylon stuff off cheap, I didn't soak my nappies either btw just a couple of extra cold rinses in the machine before washing them.
