Hi there - does anyone know of anywhere my swiss MIL could take DS? I think they would both get a lot out of it as at the moment he only hears her speaking german to him so it's baby german and as DH is not fluent it doesn't get spoken at home much.

I think there is a German Saturday School in Islington (there are about 5-6 in the UK). We go to the one in Richmond and I find it really helps my dc keep up their German whilst living in the UK. They take them from age 3.

Danke schön That gives me something to investigate although he is a little too young yet. I need to learn really made a half hearted effort over the past few years but can still only just about understand a bit and only say about 10 words!

Another idea is to get German satellite tv - you can get all the German stations on Astra 19.2, I think. My kids like watching Kika (similar to Cbeebies). Once you set up your dish, its free i.e. there is no monthly fee to pay.

I know of two, one in Marble Arch and one in Islington:

First one:
Deutschsprachige Kleinkindergruppe in Marble Arch (Imbiss) beg. So. 15. Feb
« am: 07. Februar 2009, 22:39:36 » Zitat Danke

----------------
WAS: Kleinkindergruppe (dzt. 3 Kinder von 18-24 Monaten,
andere Altersgruppen gerne willkommen)
WIE: Deutschsprachig
WIE OFT: woechentlich
WANN: Sonntag, 15.
WO: 14 Seymour Place, London W1H 7NF (Imbiss, Partyraum reserviert)
BRINGEN: die Kinder. Evtl. Spielsachen, Decken, Kekse, Trinken, ...
KOSTEN: nix
