When do they drop their daytime naps?

My boy just gone 16 months and getting his molars through.
Also hasn't slept in the daytime at all, but he is full of himself and happy, although eating is a bit out of the question though.
So is there any hope of peace in the daytime again for half an hour or so?

I think it's very individual MM - my 17mo is just about dropping his morning nap and can't imagine him ever dropping his post lunch one. But a friend of mine's DS is 4 and has quite happily not slept at all in the day since he was about 18mo.

My DD is 3 and now and then decides to miss her afternoon sleep but most days she still sleeps for 1 - 2 hours in the afternoon and then sleeps for about 11 hours every night as well.

My 22 month old does about an hour and a half in the afternoon.

DD aged 21 months has hour and a half after lunch, sometimes 2 hours, then sleeps 12 or 13 hours at night.
Hi Kaz!!!! How are you?

Ds is nearly 2. Around 18 months he had 2 afternoons in a row when he didn't sleep, he just chatted and sang. I was convinced he was going to drop his afternoon sleeps. He was going to nursery 2 days a week and stopped sleeping there around the same time. We moved house (and he stopped nursery) when he was 19 months and since then he's been a great afternoon sleeper - usually from 1pm to 3pm and sometimes longer. My point is - don't lose hope MM he may well go back to it!!

DS1 and 2 both dropped their daytime naps at about 18 mths much to my dismay.

I had resigned myself to DD doing the same, but at 17 mths she still has a nap of 1 to 2 hours everyday (thank you!!). I think it really depends on the individual.

DD is 26 months old and sleeps from 2-3 hours in the afternoon and about 12 hours at night.

I thought my 2 yo was dropping his nap a few weeks ago: he managed quite a few days without one. But now he is back to having them again. If I remember rightly from my other children, it fizzles out sometime when they are 2 - 3, but might come back occasionally when they start playgroup and are really knackered!

I'm 29 and still have my daytime nap when I can, I love daytime naps everyone should have one!

Sounds like a temporay thing then.
Thanks.
