Inflatable ready beds

Has anyone used the inflatable ready beds that are around with like Fifi/Dora on etc? What do people think to them?

My DD (or today I should probably say the contrary madam -that's another story) is 27 months old and will soon be coming out of her cot but in 2 weeks we are going on holiday for two weeks. The travel cots are a bit small now but don't want to make jump to bed in a strange environment. Thought the inflatable might be a happy go between?

Thanks

My DD started sleeping in hers age just before 2, she loves it sees it as an adventure and has always slept well in it.
DS hates his, loves the novelty and will happily play in it but always climbs in with us when sleep time comes round.

Do you know anyone you could borrow one from. you could have a trial at home and see if it works for you.

TBH a single blow up mattress with their own duvet is as effective imo

To be honest I'd put her into a travel cot - you won't want her 'escaping' while you're on holiday.

Readybeds are great, but just not in this instance.

I dont know anyone with one unfortunately and like you say a single airbed is the same. Fifi has pulling power for my DD though

Does your DD sleep in hers full time? I don't want the dilemma of using one of these on holiday and then when we get home her not wanting to go back in the cot or proper bed if we have to get one. Aarggh!

First and only child, each step is a learning curve

DD loves her readybed and yes, they are great.

But when I moved her from cot to bed she kept falling out. Similarly, when she first went on the readybed she kept falling off. Personally, I wouldn't make the switch to either while on holiday, I'd stick to what she knows just for a wee bit longer.

We've found Ready Bed great for DS, who was 2.5 when we got it. However he'd been in a bed for a while, and I really really wouldn't change it just before a holiday, if she's never been in a bed before. Just use the travel cot.

Probably wouldn't stand up to the punishment of being used full time, so don't introduce it till after the bed transition has been made.

I'm not that keen on ReadyBeds. DD kept capsizing in hers. We'd check her in the middle of the night, and she'd be fast asleep with the mattress on top of her. Like a giant garishly coloured snail.

Thanks that's all good advice.

I just was thinking that the travel cot may be a little restrictive in length, she hasn't been in one for ages, but sure she will be ok. Her cot is quite long.

I don't want to add complications for sleeping as well as jet lag!
