Just wondering if anyone has done / is doing this course. Im in my 2nd year of it and really struggling with the work load. Does it get any easier? There is also a top up year you can do at the end of this course to become a qualified teacher. was hoping to do this but am now having second thoughts.

I am in the second year of a foundation degree, not teaching.

So moral support only, I was a bit at the start of the first year when it was explained that it wa a full time course but distance learning. Is this how you are doing it?

We have just done a workshop to get us started on our research project, I am shitting myself, I have to handin a draft proposal by 9th jan argh I have so much to do, like Christmas with my kids right now. Lot to do for this project, it seems a bit out of my league but pehrpas once I get a bit of reading on the subject done then I might feel better but struggling to find books or material on my subject.

We have the chane to go on and do a degree top up or even skip that and do a masters, but it will be general management and that is the bit I disliked and found the hardest so far, so not sure if I want to go on and do more, or if I will get funding to do it. Might do top up with OU in my own time but don't know if I will have the knowledge to jump into a level3 course as again no OU in my subject.

So anyway how you doing with it all .

Sounds like the same sort of thing im doing, I've got to hand my research project in on 5th Jan, along with 2 other 2000 word assignments, I never imagined it would be this intense (good job because i wouldnt have started it if i knew). It will be worth it in the end i suppose, will have to put some late nights in if i want to get all the work done and spend time with my little girl.
Im doing ok with it, have had a few moments when i wanted to give up. how about you?

I have another assignment due first week on Jan too, I am ok with the basis bits of this assignment but there are loads of calculations and measurements to work out and explain to give final figures. But I am not going to worry too much I did a similar assignment in the 1st year by mistake, I did it a bit wrong and did what is required for this 2nd year one, oops.

I am lucky that one of my freinds from work is doing the same course so we can help each other out and exchange information, I think the whole class could have done a lot more communicating out of class, by email. The tutors are trying to get this years first years doing more of this. We have a lot of specialists so we could do with getting info off each other more.

Still not sure about doing a 3rd year insomething, but if I get it funded by work I will seriously consider it.

I'm doing a Foundation Degree, not teaching though. I'm in my first year, and already terrified by the amount of work we have! I have three projects due in on 19th Jan.

I've had moments where I've wanted to give it up. Doing this and being a parent at the same time is so much, which I'm sure you'll agree. I wanted to try and get a part time job too, but I just wouldn't be able to handle it all. I spend most of my evenings/nights doing project work, unless my mum's nice enough to have DD for an afternoon or night. In fact DD's at my mum's tonight, and I'm trying to do one of my projects, but I've lost the motivation right now, which does not help!

We have the top up year option after the two years, which I would like to do, as might as well whilst in the studying mode, though by end of second year, I may decide against that!
