Help! Nappy experts!! I'm trying to buy some new night-time nappies....

...for dd who (as my friend so nicely put it) pisses like a carthorse

We're fine with cotton bottoms in the day but the only combination that works at night is a minki with a cotton bottoms insert and a bambino mio booster. Only problem is I only have one minki and booster.

The minki's are so expensive so I thought I'd try and see what else might work and a friend gave me the booster and I can't find any more.

So what other pocket nappies can I stuff with lots of stuffing? I'm looking on ebay at a bundle with a wonderoo - what's one of them!?! And some by Work At Home Mum - are these any good?

What other brands are a fleece pocket like the minki? Or should I just bite the bullet and get more minkis?

Oh I'm so confused and if you've read this far you probably are too but any advice would be appreciated!

TIA

Does it have to be a pocket nappy? I wouldn't trust ANY pocket overnight but can think of loads of nappy plus wrap combinations that would do the trick nicely.

And I really am NOT stalking you - you are just a bit ubiquitous tonight!

thisisyesterday · 10/12/2008 22:36

our faces are:

minkis
bumsnuggler (wahmall one, might still be able to get them if you google it) it isn't a pocket one, but it's fab
a big fat popolino one with an airflow wrap.

lollipopmother · 12/12/2008 13:15

I am struggling to decide what to do for nights too. So far i've used Bumhuggers which are nice and absorbent but don't fit well on DDs legs, used Pop-ins which have been fine but other people have been having problems, and lastly I use Wonderoos but had a poo leak during the day yesterday so not so confident now. How old is your DD?

Does it have to be a pocket?

If not, we are using Baby Beehinds for night time, they are bamboo and hold a lot. Downside is they take a while to dry. You still need a wrap with them.

I find the elastic on them very good too.

lollipopmother · 12/12/2008 13:31

Bienchen I'm awaiting a Baby Beehinds bamboo myself, does it have a fleece inner?

lisad123 · 12/12/2008 13:34

My LO is nearly out of her minkis, so will be selling mine soon. My LO is the same, tots bots in the day and minki's at night.

Bienchen · 12/12/2008 14:07

Lolli, no they don't. They have two snap in bamboo boosters.

pinkspottywellies · 12/12/2008 15:04

Thanks everyone!

DD is 2.1. It doesn't have to be pocket nappies but as I said my minki is the only one to work so far and I guess I thought it'd have to an enourmous wrap to hold enough stuffing for overnight!! We were using sposies for the night but they won't hold now either.

What size minkis are you selling lisa?

Right I'll go and have a look for the other ones you've all recommended!

Ah, your DD is a lot older than mine who is only just coming up to 13 weeks. I've put her in a Baby Beehinds tonight but I think that a good poo would come straight out of the legs, they're just like the Bumhuggers, all hard frills and nowhere near enough elastic contact with the skin.

nappyzonehasastroppytoddler · 12/12/2008 21:51

drybees nightime fleece are similar to minkis but not as big and slightly cheaper...

pinkspottywellies · 12/12/2008 21:58

Ah! That sounds like a plan nappyzone. The Large minki is getting a bit small. I see you don't have extra large in the Drybee - are they similar in size do you know? Although maybe I just it up a bit tight and that's why she had a mink-print bum this morning!

pinkspottywellies · 12/12/2008 21:59

Oh I see all your large are out of stock anyway. Can you get more?

i am hoping to get more yes btu they are out of stock at retail atm. hmmm Arrival time would probs be mid feb now sorry

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 13/12/2008 21:29

Baby Beehinds are my favourite nappies EVER. I'm just sad they've discontinued the colours cause they are lovely.

Like Bumhuggers too.

lollipopmother · 13/12/2008 22:53

I've received the Baby Beehinds but I'm not keen, the legs are exactly the same as the Bumhuggers, the frills are just so hard and the elastic doesn't even touch her legs.

I quite like the look of the Drybees, I'm liking Pop-ins at the moment for nights and Wonderoos but I've only got a couple of Wonderoos that I'm totally confident with, some that I got 2nd hand are a bit less elasticated than I'd like.

littlelamb · 13/12/2008 22:56

We use tots bots with a motherease wrap and for us its a brilliant combination.

lollipopmother · 13/12/2008 23:08

What Tots Bots do you use Littlelamb?

littlelamb · 14/12/2008 00:07

I've no idea They are white, and I do them up with a nippa. They are the ones TK Maxx were selling a few weeks ago. The tots bots wraps that came with them are fine fro the daytime, but were leaking every night without fail, particuarly at the front, I think the fact that ds sleeps on his tummy was somehow making them ride up. Motherease have been fantastic though, I managed to get 4 from a second hand baby equipment shop near me and I wouldn't hesitate to buy them brand new now I know how good they are.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 15/12/2008 14:26

littlelamb sounds like a Fluffle - I use these at night, with a micorfibre cloth stuffed in the fleece pocket for a bit of extra oomph.

lollipopmother · 15/12/2008 14:32

I used a Fluffle stuffed with a mf cloth last night with airflow, it worked fine but DD has a slight rash at the bottom of her tummy. In any case it bloody stank, MF really can pong when wet and 11hrs of wet is enough to knock you over! I think MF and hemp are grim, I'm liking the Pop-ins still and I think I'm coming to the end of my night-time experiments!

FaintlyMacabre · 15/12/2008 19:42

We use a Fluffle stuffed with a combination of 2 of whatever I've got to hand -microfibre or cotton booster, folded facecloth etc. Works -just about- for now. Hopefully he'll cut down on his overnight breastfeeding soon which should help. Not had a leak yet though (touch wood).

up2myknees · 15/12/2008 20:58

cotton sandy 1 microfibre cloth and airflow wrap- not failed yet!
