I look further and the choice details has 'unconditional' under the offer bit.....
Is this it? Have I really been accepted? I have had no email or post and feel I have only found out by accident.....
I had such a bad interview I am totally gobsmacked and actually just feel like crying at the moment. Have I really got on the course????

Congratulations VP, well done that's wonderful .

harpsiheraldangelssing · 10/12/2008 19:03

that is wonderful VP.
I was int he same position last year, SAHM since 2003, started PGCE this September. it hasn't been totally easy and a bit emotional at times but SO worth it.

Accept now!

Well done!

VanillaPumpkin · 11/12/2008 14:57

Oh thank you for your replies. I have registered my FIRM ACCEPTANCE. I had a letter today too so can believe it now.
I have been accepted for Primary teaching. I am sure there will be more tears ahead but I was in school again this morning and I just LOVE it.
How are you finding it then Harpsi? I think I read the start of a thread of yours mentioning being hit by a sledgehammer and decided not to read on..... .
My interview was so so bad I was very annoyed with myself. The results were posted just a day after though so something must have been OK. Goodness knows what? .

actually I said I felt like I had been hit by a truck but in a good way.
in fairness, I do overstuff my life.
I love it, it is definitely the life for me.
CAT me if you like....

Well done you

Very well done - good luck with the course !

Cupofteaplease · 13/12/2008 20:53

Well done!!! I'm so pleased, after offering my humble opinion on another thread I was thinking of you on Weds as it was your interview. That is great news!

My only advice now is to do as little as you can until September! Well, if you want to do some reading, I would recommend anything to do with inclusion, Every Child Matters, the Rose Review, become acquainted with synthetic phonics- Letters and Sounds, Jolly Phonics, Read Write Inc, start browsing Haylock for maths revision...

But most of all, do everything with your children that you can think of as time will be so limited from September.
Well done once again, and Merry Christmas!

VanillaPumpkin · 15/12/2008 14:09

Thank you everyone for your support and positive messages. I have been bedridden with the flu since Friday so only just checked in.

I am seizing moments with the children with new eyes already . The lady who interviewed me said to completely take the summer off and enjoy my family, so I am following that rule. I am also tempted to write a note on all my Christmas cards this year to say there won't be any next year!

CupofTea - Thanks for the tips on the reading too. I am doing nothing until the New Year now, but will be keen to crack on with some then. The Letters and Sounds, Jolly Phonics and ReadWrite stuff is great as it is what dd1 is doing at the moment so I have been researching it from her POV as well as mine. Our head has done a summary of the Rose report for his staff so I am going to be cheeky and ask to see it. Fun fun fun .

Good Luck for the remainder of your course to those who are on it now, and thanks again .

Well done!!

I've just done the first term of my PGCE and am still here so it's not all bad (we made pop up cards the other day in D&T and played with robots in ICT!)

Feel free to ask questions etc if you have them

I suggest you read up on Vygotsky and Piaget's work because we did a LOT of that right at the start and to get it in your head will be helpful unless of course you already know it
