my dd 8 months cries when left but as soon as picked up she stops ! any ideas what to do to help her deal with this.

Do you mean if you try to grab a rare few seconds to do the washing up?

If it's when you try to leave her for a play on her mat, try spending time sitting with her and enourage her to roll and turn to find her toys/rattles. Make a big fuss of her when she succeeds. After a while it can be possible to sneak off for a couple of minutes. Otherwise a door bouncer can be a good way of occupying them near to you for a few minutes.

TBH I think it's usual for LO's to become quite clingy at around this age, it's difficult when even nipping to the loo seems to cause real emotional upset!

Another option is to use a baby sling , then she can come with you. We tend to do this occasionally, it keeps everyone happy!

No she cries when she can see me too. have all the right toys and play with her but she does seem to get fed up easily
