Pros and cons of BAMBOOZLES please ladies!

I've heard them mentioned a couple of times, are they any good? I think that the Tots Bots cut fits my DD quite well so I'm wondering whether I should try some Bamboozles.

So, are they absorbent? Do they last well (i've seen the Flexitot is having issues)? Do they have a fleece bit like the Cottons?

Thanks ladies.

I have some older bamboozles i brought second hand and they have a fleece bit, however just brought some new ones poppered in size 2 and they don't have the fleece. Have had no problems at all with mine so far. I tend to use poclets mainly but the bamboozles do a good job when i do use them.

Are they quite slim?

yep, much less bulky than the cotton tots bots. I have only washed mine about 4 or 5 times so far and they are still very absorbent. No leaks yet using them with an airflow wrap

lollipop - I think they're quite good (though I think Sandy's are a bit more absorbant), but the sz 1 I have (2nd hand) are velcro and I really don't like totbots velcro (those corners always seem to turn and stick up IYKWIM). I have a sz 2 popper with popper booster, which can be used as btp and I prefer it (in fact I quite like it, and it's veery soft). they don't make them nippa because of past problems with the pile or s.thing and the nippa un-nippaying (the pile is longer but not as thick as the bamboo sandy's), though I used it on M since she was born with the nippa to get better fit on her little body at the beginning with no probs! quite slim too even sz 2 with front turned over

I was told they take aeons to dry - is that true?

I went out and bought some fluffles instead.

lollipopmother · 09/12/2008 17:49

I have a Fluffle but it's just so bulky, it looks gorgeous until you put a wrap over it, then it just looks stupid!

Sunflower - I still can't believe you have Maia in a S Sandy's, she's such a diddy little thing. I tried one on Elizabeth again yesterday and it's still much too big, looks totally stupid. I can't wait for them to be small enough though because I know with a Sandy's that I never have to worry about what I'm going to find when I open up the wrap!

So, explain to me about this popper booster, is that a new type of Bamboozles? Do they come with a fleecey bit? I dislike the velcro on my Originals but I think it does actually get a better fit than the poppers on the Fluffle.

don't know if it's a new thing, though the nappy is a new "second" from TB, no fleece liner. instead of being a sewn on tongue, it just poppers in - the buttons you use for it are basically the ones you'd use when you fold it down to make it sz 1. only starting using the booster though, as I tend to use this nappy for the 1st night-stint as it's sooo soft (though don't know why I bother as her nappy is nearly dry by the time I change her after the last night feed! and I do get a good popper fit now.

understand about the Sandy's - I always make sure she has one on for when I know she's going to have big no. 2s!

I use babboozles - size 1 at the moment. they are fab but do take a whole to dry - if mine get washed on Monday they are wearable by wednesday afternoon (we don't have a tumble) They are slimmer that normal totsbots cottons Mine just have the flap down booster pad which is sewn in and you can fold. DD is not a very big wetter and have on one occasion left her with Dh and a wet nappy and discovered 4 hours later she still hadn't been changed (so about 8 hours no change) and no leaks. She wears one at night and it lasts 8-8 no problems although sometimes I do boost them when we have had a big feed evening.

I love my bamboozles and with an airflow wrap they are great. I haven't used the BTP as dd is a skinny little thing and I found legs and tummy didn't always fit.

bitofasnowqueen · 10/12/2008 21:51

I'm using size 1 bamboozles at the moment and have had no problems with them at all. I use a fleece liner with them. I came across quite a few posters on here who didn't like the size 2's as much as they'd liked the size 1's.

Mine are taking about a day to dry at the moment, I finish them off in the tumble for about 10 mins.

lollipopmother · 11/12/2008 07:22

Ok thanks ladies, I'd be getting size 2's - anyone know why these are getting complaints?

OP posts:
bitofasnowqueen · 11/12/2008 20:45

Can't remember the details really, but a few posters had used size 1 bamboozles quite happily but felt like the size 2 ones were a completely different nappy and not as good. I think you can find someone for and against just about every nappy going though if you look hard enough. I'm going to try flexitots for size 2's and there are plenty for/against to be found for those too!

Is there anyway you can try one or two size twos before committing to a big spend?

tostaky · 12/12/2008 09:55

I always put the drier on for 10-15 minuts at the end of a wash and my bamboozle (size 1) take only an extra couple of hours to dry.
Ive got velcro ones as i think the poppers are too much of a fuss.
I did bought some size 2 poppers because they can be used as btp nappies but i exchnaged them back for size 1 velcro ones... i'll buy size 2 when i'll need them, too bulky for now and i hate poppers
