Leaky disposables :(

I'm normally a cloth nappy user (at least, DS is ) and we have no problems with these at all, but when we are staying away from home overnight I use disposables. We did the same with our DD and it was fine, but with DS just about every nappy leaks around the leg. It isn't that the nappy is full - a long way from that - but DS seems to shoot a powerful jet for a little man!

We tried Sainsbury's own brand last time we were away and it was a disaster, so this time we tried Pampers - not much better, unfortunately. Are any brands slimmer fitting than others - would that help? DS is long and skinny.

Thanks.

Can I bump this for daytime people

DS is 4 months old now and 14lb 9oz - an OK weight, but very long and skinny. As we use so few disposables, I'm reluctant to buy a packet of all the different makes to try them out blindly... Any pointers?

Why don't you just take cloth? Take a couple of wet bags, put the used ones into one of them and you still have the other for out & about while you're away.

ds is long and skinny, we found huggies/tesco own brand to be good when he was smaller, however, once he was moving around the costco own brand ones were fab. we used to pull them right up and fold the top over iyswim as ds has very skinny legs.

Thanks ClareVolant - I'll try Huggies or Tesco next time.

We don't take clothies for long trips away because a) we don't have enough for that; b) who wants to drive home after an August holiday with a car full of stinky nappies; and c) the whole point of being on hoiday is not having to do the washing

It was suggested once to me that I could put a wrap over the top, I do this now whenever I use disposables and it's worked for me so far.

A second vote for huggies and Tesco.

Also I used disposables overnight and found they leaked a lot with my son, so popped a wrap over the top, worked fine, would that help? (well if you use two parters)

Another vote for Tesco's own brand - not the value ones, though.

Thanks everyone - I'll give those a try!
