I've been so stubborn ignoring all advice (well meaning or otherwise) to get my DS on a potty etc..

his godmother had an awful time with her first, trying everything and ended up with a very long 2 years.. and determined not to the same a second time. Second has got the hang of it having turned three.

DS has just turned 3yrs and 2 months and decided 2 weeks ago to just get up, put on pants, and we've not gone backwards - does everything, dry most nights etc etc...having shown no previous interest.

Now I've just seen on here others mentioning almost exactly the same age, and checking with another girlfriend who took the same method (ie do nothing!) and her DS was also 3 and 2 months.

doesn't make sense as they all develop at such different rates, but anyway, if any of you are despairing and can cope with going back to nappies for a while, maybe worth getting to this age??!!

Maybe ignore me, what do I know????????

not sure if it a magic age or not...but it certainly is sooo much less hassle if you wait for THEM to make the first move. DD was 3 years exactly (she said she would throw her nappies away on her birthday, and she did...) and DS was 3 years and 3 months. they both "trained' in one day, and went straight to using the loo. (I don't think I even bought a potty...)
Oh and well done to your DS!
