they say no added sugar, but I just bought some and tasted some of DD's and they are disGUSTing, so sweet. (It says Aspartame etc on the list of ingredients).
Are they okay for tinies do you think? Bee loves them, but she is perfectly happy with ordinary juice and water. I just thought they would be useful on the plane (holiday next week) or to keep in the car etc.

I wouldn't use them - have tasted one myself and thought it was gross. Far better to take a little cup of juice or water with you - or fill a bottle that you can decant into a cup if you need larger quantities.

p.s. you will very soon be hit by the Fruit Shoot brigade waving their placards lol

mine have them when we go out for dinner
once in a while isn't going to hurt
we treat ourselves every so often so why shouldn't they

Once in a while, on a plane etc is fine. Everything in small doses.....

I agree, the odd ocassion isn't too bad but I wouldn't give them all the time as they are full of crap. If I were stuck and thats all the shop had or whatever I would buy it but wouldn't get it otherwise.

We are fairly relaxed about what DS eats and drinks but discovered a link between DS tantrumming and having a Fruit Shoot, well actually 2 in one day as we were having a relaxed parenting moment or five.

Since then we don't let him have them at all as I honestly think they impact his behaviour and wonder if it is the aspartame.

Oh young DCs easily fooled. Empty repellant Fruit Shoot and fill the bottle with water, child and parent happy ( just keep out of the way of those Mumsnetters)

DD (age 21 months) had two today - one was the first one I gave her and the second she climbed onto a chair, then onto the kitchen island, crawled all the way to the other side, got a fruit shoot from the four-pack and was sitting in the chair drinking it when I found her!! I let her finish it (there was about a millimetre left) and she then tried to go back and get another one! She loves them, argh!
Will certainly not be giving them to her regularly and love the idea of filling the bottle with water or regular juice, but maybe once in a (long) while for a treat...
thanks for the advice!
