Does anyone own a Silver Cross Sleepover? (Cosytoes problem)

I can't work out how to attach the top of the cosytoes to the pushchair to make it look neat or more importantly keep my 6 month old warm. The instructions are useless. There are no toggles or anything to keep the white bit over the bumper bar and it appears the velcro bits that attach the top to the bottom are sewn on back to front. I've emailed Silver Cross, but was hoping someone here might be able to shed some light?

This is how it is meant to look...

Hiya,

I've got this pram. The cosy toes is threaded through the reins-that keeps it in there. The velcro on the side at the bottom of the cosy toes then velcros to the bit at the top of it at the side iyswim.
I'm not sure what you mean about the white bit going over the bumper bar, it always goes under on mine and then I just have it velcroed shut when the baby is in there. I will try and take a photo of it to show you what I mean, if you'd like?

Would you mind taking a picture? It sounds like you have it set up like I do. However it doesn't look like the picture on their website. The cosytoes is meant to hide the bumper bar?

I will do, will just wait for my munchkin to wake up, she's fast asleep in it in the garden at the moment!!

This is a better picture. I have the marina colour though and it doesn't have any tabs to fix it over the bumper bar.

I've looked on their website, I see what you mean now. It has never occurred to me to do it like that, because the bumper bar has always seemed a long way from where the baby sits! I'll have a fiddle when she wakes up! As I say, I just tend to keep it velcroed shut, for warmth.

PeppermintCreams · 22/11/2008 10:34

Sorry, the picture I just posted was the freeway, not the sleepover, but they should be similar?

OP posts:
PeppermintCreams · 22/11/2008 10:35

No it's not. I'm getting confused. The picture is the sleepover. Suffering from lack of sleep myself...

I've got the marina too, wonder if they have changed the design and we have got the old style? I bought mine in March. What do you think of it, apart from the cosy toes? I love mine, it's been worth every penny. My baby is 8 months old, and I've only just started using it as a push-chair, she still sleeps in it every day on the rocking stand in the garden!

RNW · 22/11/2008 10:47

She's awake and I've just had a look-on the cosy toes, there is a stitched section, this can be folded over the bumper bar, I've just tried it, and it seems to stay in place okay. There is nothing to secure it, but it doesn't seem to move.

biscuitchucker · 22/11/2008 10:51

I've got this pram in marina too - DP and DS out at dad's playgroup with it at the mo, but will have a look at it when they come back!

biscuitchucker · 22/11/2008 10:53

just seen picture - and that looks far neater and cleaner (ours looks like it needs a jetwash) than ours...

RNW · 22/11/2008 11:14

I know, I do try and keep mine rather perfect, but the cats keep sneaking in there and having a good sleep at every opportunity! One of them likes to sleep on the hood, it's the ultimate accessory, who needs a cup-holder, when you can have your very on cuddly toy.

PeppermintCreams · 22/11/2008 12:07

Mine is covered in baby sick!

I'll take another look later but I'm hoping it will look neat when I fold the white bit over. Otherwise it just looks like a crumpled mess to me.

The pram bit is fab, but I'm not too keen on the pushchair though. I've only been using it a couple of weeks so maybe it will grow on me. The bar seems too far away from DS as you said RNW. I'm also worried about how it will fit into the car once DS outgrows the carseat. The chassis just about fits in the boot as it is! Will definitely be using it next time around, ha ha.

Ok DS is asleep now, so I've sorted it out so it looks nice and neat like the picture.

However the cosytoes only covers the foot rest. (Hence the name )My poor DS's legs aren't anywhere near that long yet! When I have the cosytoes like a sleeping bag the velcro bits are definitely not in the right place though. I have to pull the two sections together and almost force them so the velcro meets. They are definitely stitched the wrong way around as the two half circles don't match.

I must sound like a crazy OCD woman!!! Happier now though. Thanks ladies.

The pushchair definitely grows on you i think - it's really handy to be able to convert it back to lie flat when DS is snoozing. The cosytoes we have comes quite high up (which might be why it doesn't look so neat), but it was quite awkward to put on the first time.

I only ever got it in the car once and there were a lot of bad words uttered doing so...
So now I have a stroller for the car. It's small and doesn't need me to swear at it.

whitebeachesandcoconutoil · 22/11/2008 19:00

Hi, I have just joined Mumsnet and found your thread. Not sure if you are now sorted but I can help a bit. The front bar moves in and out. There are buttons under the front corners of the bar that you depress and push the bar in or pull it out. The cosytoes does not secure over the bar with the Velcro. The Velcro is for securing the cosytoes up near your child face in bad weather. I hope this helps.
