Just checked my diary and DD was meant to be at a party this afternoon - I thought it was tomorrow.

She was really looking forward to it - friends from playgroup, clown etc.

Feel so bad. How would you tell her? She's 4.

Pls. reply.

Tell her your DH got the wrong day?

Tell her it was cancelled because the clown was ill, and hope nobody mentions it to her (though as 4-y-os talk such nonsense, I wouldn't worry about that one).

Um... own up, in the knowledge that she won't hold it against you for any more than about 30 seconds?

Gaspode · 15/11/2008 15:27

Is it too late to catch the last of it?

I'd come clean, appologise and offer a really cool alternative.

Penthesileia · 15/11/2008 15:27

Presumably it's too late to go - even for a few minutes?

Might tell the one about being Daddy's fault and offer alternative treat tomorrow.

Don't you just hate guilt?

Well, never mind. I'm sure she'll get over it - if she even remembers. As Gaspode says, suggest something else fun (maybe invite a little friend to come along too).

Ooh, I've been there! I know that stomach churning feeling.

I was honest. Ds2 was upset. He forgave me, eventually.

Thanks for all that! Have apologised and waiting for DP to come home to discuss tomorrow.

Also bought Disney Princess Sticker / Activity book to make it up
