Either a bamboo 2 part, or a fuzzi or bumgenius for pocket I would say

ilovemydogandPresidentObama · 14/11/2008 15:03

Motherease Sandy's
Bum Genius

Miyazaki · 14/11/2008 15:04

Bumgenius I think.

is ittsibittsi all in one as slim as a bumgenius pocket do you think?

we go more for reliability over slimness but the real slimmest reliable 2 part has to be the quick flip light (if you can get nappyelite to make one for you.) They're cotton flannel rather than terry but the design of them makes them more absorbent than other flannel nappies.
If you want ones that go on in one then itti bitti has to be the slimmest.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 14/11/2008 16:16

My sil has lots of itti bitti delish, they are not really an all in one, more an all in two as they have a snap out booster, and the 'outer' bit can be reused.

They are tiny, comparable to a disposable imo and oh my god they are gorgeous, nappy porn really.

Def, smaller than bumgenius, the other thing I have heard is disposable sized is Swaddlebees scroll down for a comparison pic, but I haven't seen one myself.

prefolds folded into a pad are very very slim and have never had any reliability issues (although am aware loads of other people have)

BigBadMouse · 14/11/2008 16:29

PUL outer pockets are less bulky in general - esp a sized one with a hemp or bamboo booster.

Itti Bitti

Ellas House Day Nappies are thinner than a disposable

Bamboo sandy's - but slow drying

Prefolds - all the bulk is between the legs

Weenees pouch pants and mothercare smart nappies are thin but unreliable

Anything btp will be bulky until it is on it's largest setting and then quite often is bulky due to needing extra boosting.

Airflow wraps can be a bit bulky due to their bagginess - but I use them anyway because they are excellent in every other respect.

Flamesparrow · 14/11/2008 16:51

I have a few quick flip lights in stock at bumfluff still They are lovely little nappies, could never work out why they weren't as popular as I expected!

Swaddlebees are v narrow across the bum, so not ideal for chunkies.

BigBadMouse · 14/11/2008 17:01

Pop-ins are thin too (have to add that or Essie won't speak to me )

needaholiday · 14/11/2008 17:18

there you go, try flamesparrows shop then. You wont have to wait then

2point4kids · 14/11/2008 17:43

Flamesparrow - what is your shop? If I google bumfluff will it appear or will I just get rude sites ?

I have ordered one bungenius and one ittsibittsi to try out and see which I like.

DS is 8 months and slightly on the skinny side of average so will see which suits him!

Quick question - do you need a wrap with the quick flip nappies?

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 14/11/2008 18:08

yup

Miyazaki · 14/11/2008 19:34

I don't like quick flip nappies at all, they seem to be made from towels. Scratchy stiff towels. (We have very hard water, so guess if you are in soft water, they might be better)

Flamesparrow · 14/11/2008 23:28

I have only ever had the lights or the bamboo and they have been lovely and soft for me

LilRedWG · 14/11/2008 23:32

I love my bamboo nappies.

LilRedWG · 14/11/2008 23:33

Miyazaki - put white vinegar in your washing machine, it softens the water.

needaholiday · 16/11/2008 15:35

second the vinegar in the wash, 2 spoons of white does the trick. Also comfort fabric softener or bold 2 in 1. I live in an incredibly hard water area and find the new 100% cotton quick flips to be very soft, though I didn't have a problem with the normal cotton ones either Funny how one nappy type can be scratchy while I guess all your others are fine? As far as I know they're made from cotton terry same as other WAHM makes.

Miyazaki · 16/11/2008 16:36

You don't make quick flips by any chance do you needaholiday? You do sound pretty keen on them...

I do have some emergency MEOS, which I also find to be scratchy, altho not made from towels, and not as much as the quick flips (i sold them on). Mainly I stick to my bumgenius/fuzzis/mt and fluffles for night time. So yes, all the others are fine, as they are man made fibres, which work for us. So your guess was correct.

I always thought fabric softener, 2 in 1 washing powder was a no no. I use ecover tho - is that ok?

Flamesparrow · 16/11/2008 17:20

Nope NAH just seems to be v keen The quick flip family home ed

needaholiday · 16/11/2008 19:42

no, I don't make quick flips I wish I could though and as for home ed, erm no I like my me time . I apologise for being a bit mad of QFs, they just work well for me. And yes clay based softeners are fine. I had advice from the lady at flower pot tots (gorgeous things on there BTW) that clay bases were fine as they don't clog the fibres or something like that. Bold 2 in 1 and comfort are ok.
