11 month old baby boy leaking through disposable nappies - any suggestions on makes?

For the last 2 months my son has started leaking through his nappies at night - we have been using pampers active fit since he was little and no probs. He is about 22lbs, We are on size 4 and now tried 4+ and he leaks through both at night and sometimes in the day on the waistband. Cloth nappies are not an option for us so can anyone suggest another brand or what they did when they had a similar problem? Many thanks

We had a similar problem.
There are overnight nappies available in the US only. Can't remeber the name, will go and look. You can get them shipped over. Might be pricey, but saves on all that washing!
He will grow out of it. Ds has now.
Back in a sec.

I had the same with pampers - i tried several types but ended up using huggies. they were the best for me.

We use Huggies Super-Dry and they are really good.

*best for dd - not me, i dont wear nappies

Silly question - do you make sure his willy is always pointing downwards? That can help stop leaks.

Tescos own brand nappies were much better for us than either Pampers or Huggies - not the value ones, their standard ones. Their pull-on nappies are really good.

Tescos superfit are the best IMO. These are in a purple packet and you could try size 4+ or 5. My DS leaked through loads of nappies and I found these particular Tescos ones the best. Then I had DD and she has only ever worn Tescos. (Tescos have more than one type and it is the superfit that are the best).

I've found the Moltex brand brilliant for DD, now 18m. She's hardly ever leaked in them and considering she drinks so much water they still absorb everything. Only problem is that because they are partly biodegradable they are HEAVY when full. The way i see it DD will want to potty train asap rather than carry the lead weighted pants around. Do I sound like a bad mother?!

even when I used active fit during the day I still used baby dry for night time as they are bulkier and are therefore more absorbant. Tesco green pack baby essentials are much like pampers baby dry and I did use them for a while for night time.

Tesco standard own brand are really good. I just went up a size when they leaked

KazzaL · 14/11/2008 13:05

Tesco superfits definitely - although I do washables during the day, they can't cope with up to 3 bottles of milk overnight - I always get the biggest size possible, so DS's weight is at the bottom of the range. DS is just over 12 kg which is 27lb I think and I use size 5's.

I do get a packet of the naturebabycare ones occassionally when I'm feeling rich or worry about filling landfills and find them ok most of the time as well.

Ahh tescos Superfit defo best (though I preferred Huggies when DD was smaller) now DD is 17months and we use the tesco Superdry they are fabby to they had 3 packs for £10 last weekend as well not sure if still on!!
