A couple of questions about teething...

I've read a lot of the teething threads and found a lot of useful info on them, but there are a couple of things I hope someone can help me with...

People have suggested chewing on a stick of carrot - do they mean raw or cooked? With my cooking they usually end up mushy which kind of defeats the object!!

Also lots of people have suggested calpol - what are the current recommendations following the publicised link with asthma? Is ibuprofen better?

Thanks in advance...

Ibuproen is the one not suitable for asthma sufferers afaik.
Carrot sticks should be uncooked and chilled.

carrot sticks -uncooked, & from fridge (cool should help) - someone I know also used frozen bananas - messy but popular

Hello Cuppa - I feel your tiredness ! My DS was exactly the same. On top of the regular drugs, we found Baby Nurofen worked best, Boots did Cammomile crystal sachets specifically for babies / teething. Not sure if they helped loads, but they did calm him down a bit.

We used the teething granules with both our DCs and they seemed to help enormously. To the extent that 'ganools' was one of their first words for both

Oh, yes, granules
DS seemed to be bhugely helped by new era homeopathic teething tablet things. Made no earthly difference to dd, though...

Dentinox teething gel still works a treat on my 18mo dd. I think I am keeping them in business.
