Do you have a "Look"?

I thought about this the other day and then Hecate mentioned her "Look" on the hitting thread. I have a "Look" that could stop Godzilla in his tracks but have been told that it is actually a very negative thing to do to your child - negative disapproving looks etc.

I find my Look extremely effective. Do you all have a "Look"?

Am amazed that those of you with babies haven't used it yet. Clearly you haven't had to deal with a 9.5mo heading for that nice power cable to suck! Mind you, my look just makes her giggle thus far!

I have a LOOK and a CROSS VOICE

I tried using my "Look", which i have successfully used my other DDs for several years, on DD3 today. She sat demurely in her highchair, spoon full of weetabix poised over the floor, and when threatened with the "Look", she giggled and said "Funny Mummy", and dropped the weetabix anyway...

What am i doing wrong?

Yes. I'm a teacher so this has been essential over the years! However it doesn't work with ds1 - he generally laughs at me and thinks it's funny.

I have a 'look', but I do think it's essential to have an opposite one that is deployed on occassion to counteract the sever one. Ie. bad behaviour gets the sever look, good behavour gets the discrete 'I think you're great' wink.
